The paper represents analysis, which have helped to determine tendencies of usage secondary and renewable resources by means of their utilization within the closed ecological complex while implementing integrated cogeneration systems belonging to various sources. Both the current state and prospects of secondary and renewable resources use within the closed complex of a mining enterprise have been considered. Relying upon philosophical approaches as for the formation of a viewpoint concerning responsibility of the modern society to future generations, tendencies to form energy production and energy consumption on the basis of alternative radical technologies have been proposed. The authors have put forward tendencies to change coal mining and coal use while generating the raw material from the abandoned and out-of-balance reserves. Chances to use cogeneration systems by various energy sources have been considered. Formation of the unified power and chemical system to improve economic and ecologic expediency of the proposed measures is the key tendency of energy perfection as well as minimization of impact on the underground mine environment and on the surface to prolong activities of dying mining territories and to reduce social tension.

Purpose. Justification of the principles for assessing the competitive status of Ukrainian mining companies' energy efficiency as a derivative of electricity consumption and qualitative estimation of the companies' competitive positions in terms of their energy efficiency.Methods. The research is based on the model for assessing the competitive status of energy efficiency as a derivative of electricity consumption. The composite method of estimating the company's electricity consumption comprises determination of the competition intensity indicator along with the assessment of the energy market capacity.Findings. The indicators of internal potential of enterprises' electricity consumption, the competitive position in certain segments of the electricity consumption market, the company's ability to withstand the influence of external factors are determined. Analysis of the conducted calculations allowed to identify leaders and outsiders among the companies competing for energy efficiency status.Originality. Estimation of the energy efficiency status level of Ukrainian mining companies contains new approaches to using mathematical and statistical analysis methods modified in accordance with the industry specifics. Practical implications.The obtained results can be used to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the electricity consumption management. Considering the company life cycle will allow to assess its financial resources, its ability to achieve a certain level of energy resources efficient use and to determine the external and internal factors that influence the management of the company power supply, and to predict changes in its energy consumption indicators.

Influence of configuration chambers on the formation of stress in multi-modulus mass

Purpose. Detecting unstable areas in the filling mass taking into account configuration of the adjacent mineable chambers to improve its formation. Methods.The research into stress state of multi-modulus mass consisting of ore, rocks and filling was conducted using SolidWorks 2011 software with the full compliance of their physical and mechanical properties. Findings.Computer simulation allowed to reveal unstable areas in the filling mass of the first stage chamber under the influence of the development of the second stage chamber. It was found that the vertical stress component forms an area of compressive stresses in the filling mass of the first stage chamber at the junction of its exposure to the roof of filling chamber with dimensions: depth of the mass -up to 50 m, vertical outcrop -9.8 m, the maximum value of stress reaching 89 MPa. The horizontal stress component also forms an area of tensile stress, but with a lower value of 65 MPa. The horizontal stress component generates in the filling mass of the first stage chambers the area of tensile stresses on the substage level 775 -810 m with dimensions: depth of the mass -up to 7 m, vertical exposure -10 m, and the maximum stress value -up to 4 MPa.Originality. Analytical assessment of the filling mass stability allowed to conclude that: at the junction of its exposure to the roof of filling chamber, the compressive stress exceeds the strength of filling mass 1.8 times, in the center of filling mass on the outcrop, the tensile stress exceeds the strength of filling 1.3 times. Vertical stresses exceed horizontal stresses 1.35 times in the areas of filling destruction.Practical implications. The obtained findings related to the stress state of the filling mass can be used in issuing passports for stopes in choosing the filling mode and composition of the filling mixture.
