Magnetic structure of the quantum magnet SrCuTe2O6

Abstract: SrCuTe 2 O 6 consists of a three-dimensional arrangement of spin-1 2 Cu 2+ ions. The first-, second-, and third-neighbor interactions, respectively, couple Cu 2+ moments into a network of isolated triangles, a highly frustrated hyperkagome lattice consisting of corner-sharing triangles and antiferromagnetic chains. Of these, the chain interaction dominates in SrCuTe 2 O 6 while the other two interactions lead to frustrated interchain coupling giving rise to long-range magnetic order at suppressed temperatures.… Show more

“…We find that these values of the couplings are consistent with the sum of interactions predicted from the high-temperature Curie-Weiss temperature in Ref. [16]. The ratio of the interchain coupling to the intrachain coupling J inter J intra = J 1 J 3 ∼ 1 25 indicates that SrCuTe 2 O 6 is highly 1D.…”

“…Recently a family of quantum magnets with chemical formula ACuTe 2 O 6 (A = Sr, Pb) was reported [15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22]. These compounds have cubic space group P4 1 32 where the magnetic Cu 2+ ions (S = 1/2) occupy the 12d Wyckoff site.…”
