Magnetic sensor based on giant magnetoimpedance effect

Abstract: A giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) magnetic sensor is designed in the present work. Differing from the previously reported sensors, a couple of permanent magnets are applied to provide a bias magnetic field for the sensor probe which consists of commercial amorphous ribbon. A negative feedback-coil is adopted to improve the linearity of the sensor output.
