Magnetic quivers from brane webs with O5 planes

Abstract: Magnetic quivers have led to significant progress in the understanding of gauge theories with 8 supercharges at UV fixed points. For a given low-energy gauge theory realised via a Type II brane construction, there exist magnetic quivers for the Higgs branches at finite and infinite gauge coupling. Comparing these moduli spaces allows one to study the non-perturbative effects when transitioning to the fixed point. For 5d N = 1 SQCD, 5-brane webs have been an important tool for deriving magnetic quivers. In this… Show more

“…Rules for quiver subtraction of framed orthosymplectic quivers are given for 'Slodowy intersections' in [44]. Unframed orthosymplectic quivers are studied in [45,62]. A complete set of rules for quiver subtraction that works for any type of quiver is still being developed.…”

“…In many cases, it is possible to realise the quiver description of the 3d mirror theory from a magnetic phase of the brane system. Such a description of the 3d mirror theory is referred to as a magnetic quiver [13][14][15]32].…”

“…In this case computing the Higgs branch of one theory corresponds to computing the Coulomb branch of the other theory and vice versa. A powerful tool to compute the Higgs branch of a theory JHEP09(2020)189 with 8 supercharges in any dimension, 1 is through the use of magnetic quivers [12,[15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22]. A crucial ingredient in deriving such quivers is the usage of non-simply laced quivers, whose Coulomb branches were first computed in [23].…”
