“…In recent times, rare‐earth intermetallic compounds RNiC (R = La, Sm, Nd, Gd, and Tb) have been demonstrated to show various ground states of CDWs, magnetism, and superconductivity . Among these, SmNiC has attracted special interest because of competition or coexistence between the CDW state and the ferromagnetism . The electrical resistivity of SmNiC shows a metal–insulator transition due to CDW formation at = 148 K.
