Magnetic Pair Distribution Function of Spin-glass System Mn0.5Fe0.5TiO3

Abstract: Local magnetic structure of the spin-glass material Mn 0.5 Fe 0.5 TiO 3 is investigated by magnetic pair distribution function (mPDF) obtained from powder neutron diffraction data. The magnetic correlation peak in the mPDF decays with increasing the distance r, indicating the short-range magnetic ordering in the spin glass state. The mPDF can be almost reproduced by the superposition of the mPDFs calculated using the antiferromagnetic structures of MnTiO 3 and FeTiO 3 multiplied a Gaussian-type decay function.… Show more
