Magnetic observations at Coimbra, May 1919

Abstract

[The readings of the magnetographs were made by the same observers. The data supplied consisted of absolute values of declination (D) and horizontal intensity (H) for each minute from 9h 58m to 16h 32m, G. M. T., May 29, 1919; the five‐minute means are given in Table 1. Furthermore the hourly values of D and H, local mean time, were supplied for the “five least‐disturbed days”, May 1, 7, 11, 28, and 30, as well as for May 29; the mean hourly values, Dn and Hn for May 28 and 30 are given in Table 2. Table 3 contains the differences, ΔD and ΔH, formed from Table 2, by subtraction of the hourly values for May 29 from Dn and Hn, respectively, taking west D as minus.
