Magnetic moments ofJP=32+decuplet baryons using effective quark masses in a chiral constituent quark model

Abstract: The magnetic moments of J P = 3 2 + decuplet baryons have been calculated in the chiral constituent quark model (χCQM) with explicit results for the contribution coming from the valence quark polarizations, sea quark polarizations, and their orbital angular momentum. Since the+ decuplet baryons have short lifetimes, the experimental information about them is limited. The χCQM has important implications for chiral symmetry breaking as well as SU (3) symmetry breaking since it works in the region between the QCD… Show more

“…To compare the vacuum magnetic moments of baryons calculated in the present work with the available literature we have given table III. As can be seen from this table, the results for vacuum magnetic moments of decuplet baryons in the present work are comparable to those obtained in other theoretical approaches, especially to those obtained through Large-N c approach in [84] and χCQM model approach used in [69]. The present results are very close to those obtained in Ref.…”

“…This results in the presence of the meson cloud at low energies where the effective degrees of freedom are the valence quarks and the internal Goldstone bosons (GBs), which are coupled to the valence quarks [23][24][25][26][27]. The χCQM has successfully been applied to calculate the spin and flavor distribution functions including the strangeness content of the nucleon [25,26,[28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35]. It therefore becomes desirable to extend this model to investigate their transition properties.…”

“…Consequently, the axial charges provide a new independent probe of the inner structures of the P c states. The chiral symmetry and its spontaneous breaking play a pivotal role in the low-energy regime, which inspired various versions of the chiral quark model [50][51][52][53][54]. The long-range one-pion-exchange force is introduced to model the interaction between the light quarks, together with the confinement and the one-gluon-exchange potential [55][56][57][58][59].
