Abstract:We report the results of a systematic effort to optimize the hard magnetic properties of melt-spun ribbons containing the pseudoternary compound Nd2(CoxFe1−x)14B as the principal constituent. Cobalt concentrations x=0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, and 1 were examined. For each x the ingot composition was varied so as to maximize the energy product of rapidly solidified ribbons. We find that the optimum composition, especially the boron content, is sensitively dependent on x, a result of technological significance.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
