Magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of LuFe2–x Mn x O4 + δ multiferroics

Abstract: The magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of the LuFe 2 -x Mn x O 4 + δ (x = 0, 0.05, 0.12) system have been studied. A partial substitution of manganese for iron leads to a noticeable decrease in the magnetization and the magnetocaloric effect. It has been shown that the magnetocaloric effect in LuFe 2 -x Mn x O 4 + δ samples is determined by several mechanisms.

“…After that, they are dried and burned. The resulting ash is annealed in air at a temperature of 600 • C. Then the ash is ground and pressed into tablets with a diameter of ∼ 6 mm and a thickness of about 1.5 mm [18]. Silver contacts with a diam-eter of 3 mm were deposited on opposite faces of a circular cross section by magnetron sputtering.…”

“…После этого они высушиваются и сжигаются. Полученная при этом зола отжигается на воздухе при температуре 600 • C. Затем золу перетирают и спрессовывают в таблетки диаметром ∼ 6 mm и толщиной около 1.5 mm [18]. На противоположные грани круглого сечения методом магнетронного распыления были нанесены серебряные контакты диаметром 3 mm.…”
