Abstract

The potential advantage of the Trading Village can be seen from the abundant vegetable harvest. The majority of the villagers work as vegetable farmers. This is certainly a distinctive feature for a village. However, in living life, there are often old problems, namely the loss of local farmers due to harvests that are not always sold perfectly. Vegetables that do not last long and rot end up dumping organic waste into rivers. The existence of this activity in addition to harming the farmers also causes environmental problems that are polluted due to organic waste. Seeing this problem, the researcher took the initiative to find a solution in the form of cultivating Maggot Black Soldier Fly, which has the opportunity to create a new business worth rupiah and is useful in creating a healthy environment and avoiding disease. Meanwhile, the research method starts from the preparation stage where researchers conduct site surveys, interviews, and observations. Then it was continued at the implementation stage, namely the Maggot Black Soldier Fly cultivation process and ended in the mentoring stage, where the researchers held a workshop on Maggot cultivation tips as an effort to change the mindset of the Merchant Village community. In addition, the researchers also cooperated with the youth of the trading village to participate and care to deal with the problem of village organic waste
