The fabrication of these fibres via the elecrospinning technique is described by Gule et al16 Testing of antimicrobial activity of the AquaQure containing PVA nanofibres, as well as leaching of metal ions and reusability of PVA nanofibres modified with the AquaQure biocide were investigated in this study. Antimicrobial activity of the AquaQure containing PVA fibres was tested against bioluminescent strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae Xen 39, Staphylococcus aureus Xen 36, Escherichia coli Xen 14, Pseudomonas aeruginosa Xen 5 and Salmonella typhimurium Xen 26 were tested using plate counting and further confirmed with non culturable techniques namely bioluminescent imaging (BLI) and LIVE/DEAD Baclight to determine the antimicrobial efficiency against viable but non‐culturable (VNBC) cells.…”
