Macrofungal diversity in disturbed vegetation types in North-East Hungary

Abstract: Macrofungi play an extraordinarily important role in the catalysis of the nutrient cycle of deciduous and coniferous forests. Habitat degradation adversely influences the number of fruiting bodies of macrofungi and diminishes the diversity of the fungal community. The diversity of the terricolous- and lignicolous macrofungi assemblages were compared in stands of semi-natural and two plant associations modified by humans in different degrees in North-East Hungary. We used data from 15 permanent plots that were … Show more

“…The amount of deadwood also affects the macrofungal assemblage, which previous authors highlighted as the most crucial microhabitat in the forest [62,63]. The diversity of woody macrofungi strongly depends on the presence and amount of deadwood [64,65].…”

“…The major advantage in applying the Rényi's diversity numbers is that they display not just a single index but also a family of indices, many of which are currently applied and widely used in ecology and have varying sensitivities to the presence of rare and abundant species (Carranza et al 2007;Juškaitis et al 2012;Rudolf et al 2012).…”

“…Th e herb layer is rich in species. Among the grasses and sedges there is a signifi cant cover of Agrostis tenuis, Anthoxanthum odoratum, Festuca pratensis, F. rupicola, F. valesiaca, as well as Carex pallescens (Rudolf et al 2012).…”

“…Studies including botanical surveys have been made in the case of the wood pasture of Hárskút in the Northern Bakony (Horváth and Pintér 2003, Kenéz et al 2008, Szabó et al 2007). However, mycological surveys have been prepared only by Rudolf (2013) and Rudolf et al (2008Rudolf et al ( , 2012Rudolf et al ( , 2013.…”
