Macroeconomic Determinants of Health Crises in Sub-Saharan Africa

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to identify the macroeconomic determining factors of health crises. In order to reach our purpose, we use a logit model on a panel of 25 countries in sub-Saharan Africa from 1995 to 2012. The main results of this study indicate that international migration flows, the ratio of short-term debt by currency reserves, and the organization of the health care system explain health crises.
