Macrocyclic 14‐Membered Ring Diketal Diamines: Synthesis, Conformational Analysis and 99mTc Radiolabeling Evaluation

Abstract: Chiral and achiral macrocyclic diketal diamines, analogs of cyclams, were synthesized from the previously obtained corresponding diketal dilactams by reduction with lithium aluminum hydride in the presence of a trace amount of triethylamine. In the (15-30) ϫ 10 -3 M concentration range, the reaction led mainly to the expected doubly reduced compounds except in the trans-OMe substituted series (R = Ph, Me), in which it partially stopped at the single reduction stage. A conformational study conducted by liquid N… Show more

“…Among the large variety of organic systems of potential interest for surface immobilization, macrocycle systems feature several attractive properties. In particular, chiral salen macrocycles11–15 acting as potential neutral mono‐ and ditopic enantioselective receptors16 are of great interest in enantioselective catalysis,17 chiral resolution,18 chiral sensing,19 diagnostic nuclear medicine20 and in supramolecular design for the hierarchiral assembly 21. Although, in general, macrocycles are attractive ligands for the preparation of new magnetic and catalytic materials as they may bind to more than one metal,22 there are, however, a few reports of Schiff‐base salen macrocycles that can bind multiple metal centers 16, 23…”
