Abstract: Humans are sociable creatures by nature. Our ability to survive and grow is dependent on our ability to connect with others. Consequently, loneliness and social isolation has been linked to health issues including cognitive decline, lower educational performance, poorer health outcomes, vulnerability, depression, heart disease and it has been highlighted as a public health issue.
