m6A-NeuralTool: Convolution Neural Tool for RNA N6-Methyladenosine Site Identification in Different Species

Abstract: An important role is played by N6-methyladenosine (m6A) in RNA methylation modification. The modification information is crucially required for development in the field of medicine. Biochemical experiments for m6A identification have demonstrated high-quality results. However, this process is not a feasible solution due to its cost and time constraints. Recently, artificial intelligence has played a role to produce effective models which can be utilized for speedy and efficient identification of N6-methyladeno… Show more

“…A numerical representation is required to perform computational operations on DNA sequences. The one-hot encoding scheme shows great effectiveness when applied in deep learning; a number of recent studies in the domain of computer science [27], [28], [29] and bioinformatics [30]- [32] have applied the one-hot encoding scheme. Using this method, a single nucleotide is converted to a binary vector of four dimensions, where one element is denoted as 1 and all the remaining elements are represented by 0; for each nucleotide, the mathematical representation is as follows:…”

“…Over and above 150 different types of RNA post-translational modifications have been discovered, with methylation accounting for two-third of them [2] . N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification is a typical and generous post-transcriptional RNA modification that affects nearly all cell cycle processes, including translation efficiency, cell growth, and cell viability [3] , [4] , [5] , [6] , [7] , [8] . This indicates the methylation of the adenosine base at the nitrogen-6 location.…”
