Abstract:Lymphocytic esophagitis is a new and rare entity, irst described in 2006. Histologically, the esophageal mucosa is characterized by a dense peripapillary lymphocytic iniltrate and an intercellular edema without granulocytosis. To this day, it is not yet considered as a disease. Its etiology and clinical signiicance are still unclear.
