Cette étude s'inscrit dans une recherche conjointe entre les laboratoires de psychologie de l'Université Pontificale Catholique de Rio de Janeiro et de l'Université Paris Descartes. L'actualité des familles contemporaines nous confronte plus souvent à une clinique de la parentification des enfants. L'enfant adopte une posture parentale envers ses parents et les membres de sa famille. Deux modalités de parentification sont distinguées selon qu'elles concernent les enjeux des liens et de la contenance familiale ou ceux de la relation. À l'aide de conceptualisations théoriques croisées, nous analyserons les rapports entre la parentification et les processus de maturation psychique de l'enfant. La discussion sur cette problématique, intersubjective et intrapsychique, est présentée à partir d'une illustration clinique.
