“…The neonatal with tetralogy of Fallot died at the second day after birth. Neonatal lupus and neonatal heart disease do not appear to be significantly associated with the new-onset lupus during pregnancy or LN pregnancies, which may be associated with the anti-Ro/SSA and anti-La/SSB[ 42 , 43 ] and needs further investigation.…”

“…So far, three groups of autoantibodies against membrane surface antigens have been identified in conjunction with maternal–fetal transfer: (1) N -methyl- d -aspartate receptor (NMDAR) antibodies (Wang et al 2012 ; Jurek et al 2019 ; Lee et al 2009a ), (2) Contactin - associated protein - like 2 (CASPR2) antibodies (Coutinho et al 2017a , b ; Brimberg et al 2016 ; Bagnall-Moreau et al 2020 ) and (3) antibodies against the 37 and 73 kDa proteins (Braunschweig et al 2013 ). Furthermore, although our review focuses on membrane surface autoantibodies, we call brief attention to evidence of the maternal–fetal transfer of anti-Sjögren's-syndrome-related antigen A (SSA) (Ro) and anti-SSB (La) and anti-ribonucleoprotein 1 (RNP) autoantibodies in mothers with lupus erythematosus (Feki et al 2015 , Zurgil et al 1993 ) to better decipher the spectrum of potential maternal–fetal transfer of autoantibodies.…”

“…17 Table S9, http://links.lww.com/RHU/A253 summarizes the autoantibody profile reported in 9 studies. 13,17,18,[21][22][23]25,27 In the largest series, antinuclear antibodies, anti-Ro/SS antigen A (SSA), and anti-La/SS antigen B (SSB) antibodies were found in 42 (70%), 35 (58.3%), and 22 (36.7%) patients, respectively. 23 In the second largest series, anti-Ro/SSA and anti-La/SSB autoantibodies were reported in 44 (77.2%) and 46 (80.7%) patients, respectively.…”

“…Two studies provided data on outcomes of pregnancy in women with SS. 22,28 A study from Tunisia reported on susceptibility factors of neonatal lupus in a neonate born to a mother affected by SS, with both anti-Ro/SSA and anti-La/SSB antibodies. It is notable that this mother had previously lost 2 infants due to unexplained grade III congenital heart block and had a healthy living infant with positive anti-Ro/SSA antibodies.…”
