Luminosity-Independent Measurement of the Proton-Proton Total Cross Section ats=8 TeV

“…The method was already validated at ffiffi ffi s p ¼ 7 TeV [8]. The two measurements are consistent in terms of detector performance showing comparable systematic uncertainties and they are both in good agreement with the extrapolation of the lower energy measurements.…”
