Abstract:The luminescence thermochromism properties of two entangled copper(I)-iodide coordination polymers formulated [Cu4I4(dmimpr)2]n (1) and [Cu6I6(dimb)3]n (2) (dmimpr = 1,3-di(2-methyl-imidazol-1-yl)propane, dimb = 1,4-di(imidazol-1-yl)butane) are reported. Upon cooling by liquid nitrogen, their solid-state luminescences at room temperature are drastically changed with the large red-shifts of 41 and 78 nm for 1 and 2, respectively. The correlation between luminescence thermochromism and temperature-dependent vari… Show more
“…The same group reported on the solvothermal reaction of CuI with dmimpr or dimb (dmimpr = 1,3-di(2-methyl-imidazol-1-yl)-propane, dimb = 1,4-di(imidazol-1-yl)butane) that yielded the coordination polymers [Cu 4 I 4 (dmimpr) 2 ] n , 34 and [Cu 6 I 6 (dimb) 3 ] n , 35 [43]. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed, for the Cu 4 I 4 cluster in 34, Cu···Cu distances shorter or comparable to the 2.8 Å critical value.…”

“…From the results above, the lifetimes of complexes 1-3 are in the range of nanoseconds, indicating that the emissions are fluorescent in nature[34][35][36].…”
“…In the past decades, the syntheses of silver (I) complexes have attracted great interest because the silver(I) exhibits diverse coordination geometries such as linear, trigonal, squareplanar and octahedral ones [2][3][4][5][6]. In recent years, many MOFs with more than two polymeric substructures in the crystalline state have been reported, which usually occur in an interpenetrating fashion [7,8].…”
