“…Comparison of these results with the data published for the microcrystalline LiPr(PO 3 ) 4 [13] and LiLa 0.999 Pr 0.001 (PO 3 ) 4 [14] shows different behaviour of the samples prepared by different methods. For those samples prepared by the melt-solution technique and measured at 10 K coexistence of intra-(4f 2 / 4f 2 ) and interconfigurational (4f5d / 4f 2 ) transitions were observed.…”

“…However, the amount of this phase was relatively small because it was not detected by X-ray diffraction. In comparison, this phase was also seen in the X-ray pattern of 0.1% Pr 3þ -doped lithium tetraphosphate sample prepared by Srivastava et al [14].…”

“…The excitations to 5d 2 , 5d 3 , and 5d 4 build the broad structure between 6.45 eV and 7.75 eV. The emission bands at 5.48 eV, 5 [5,17]. Because the ionic radius of Pr 3+ and La 3+ is larger than that of Y 3+ , the crystal field interaction with the 5d electron is somewhat smaller; just enough to locate the lowest 5d state above the 1 S 0 state and PCE can occur.…”

“…Ce 3+ luminescence in LiLaP 4 O 12 was studied by Blasse and Dirksen [1], in AGdP 4 O 12 (A=Cs, K, Na, Li) by Zhong et al [2], and recently we studied Ce 3+ luminescence in LiYP 4 O 12 [3] and LiGdP 4 O 12 [4]. Srivastava et al studied the photon cascade emission (PCE) of Pr 3+ in LiLaP 4 O 12 [5]. PCE emission is also observed in stoichiometric LiPrP 4 O 12 [17].…”
