Abstract: Glycolate oxidase (HAO1) catalyses the synthesis of glyoxylate, a common metabolic intermediate that causes renal failure if accumulated. HAO1 inhibition is an emerging treatment for primary hyperoxaluria, a rare disorder of glyoxylate metabolism.
