Abstract:The end-to-end quality of service (QoS) of a variable bit rate (VBR) MPEG-2 compressed video transported over an interconnected ATM satellite-cable-terrestrial network incorporates the impact of the characteristics of these three media as well as the specificity of the video encoding/decoding processes.
