<title>Modeling tool for design and simulation of complex mechanical systems</title>

Leigh E. Austin

Abstract: A modeling tool which allows for design and simulation of multi-domain systems is presented in this paper. The tool is comprised of modular submodels, or blocks, which can be linked together using a graphical interface. Two models of physical systems are constructed. The first system is composed of a voltage controlled motor under digital PID control. An electrohydraulic system used for sheet metal forming is also modeled. Good agreement has been achieved between the results of the simulation and experimental … Show more
