<title>Influence of multiple light-scattering on TiO2 nanoparticles imbedded into stratum corneum on light transmittance in UV and visible wavelength regions</title>
Abstract:This paper focuses on the simulation of propagation of radiation in UV and visible wavelength regions within a superficial skin layer (stratum corneum, SC) partially filled with titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) nanoparticles. Volume concentrations of the particles (0.67% -2.25%) correspond to the maximal concentrations of the considered particles in the frames of independent scattering. Transmittance of 307-, 400-, and 500-nm light through a 20-µm thick SC is calculated. The effect of the TiO 2 nanoparticles on the c… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
