<title>Fuzzy-control-based five-step Li-ion battery charger by using AC impedance technique</title>

Abstract: In This paper the previous Li-Ion battery charger techniques are reviewed and compared and the new fuzzy logic battery charging method which is proposed to optimize and improve the battery charger efficiently. According to results of comparison, using the fuzzy control charging system can shorten the charging time with higher efficiency and lower temperature rise. Additionally, we have used optimal Li-ion battery charging frequency by using AC impedance technique which means if the battery is charged by the op… Show more

“…In Refs. [124,125], the fuzzy logic controller is utilized to convert the charging quality characteristics (charging time and normalized discharged capacity) into a single fuzzy dual-response performance index, and a five-stage MCC charging pattern is optimized to improve charging efficiency. In Refs.…”

“…Most of the literature focuses on the control of a single lithium-ion cell. Within this context, different control approaches have been considered, such as fuzzy logic [20,21,22,23], empirical rules [24,25,26,27], and optimization-based strategies [28,29,30,31,32,19,33,34]. Model Predictive Control (MPC) [35,36] appears to be the most used optimizationbased methodology for charging of cells [37,29,31,32,38,39,33,40,41,42,43].…”

“…The number of electric vehicles (EVs) is increasing rapidly due to the environment issues and energy crisis all around the world. Large number of EVs plug in the power grid will bring many problems and challenges to both power grid and battery charging system [1][2][3][4][5], different methods of battery charging control are proposed in [6][7][8][9][10] but it also will bring some opportunities. EVs load is a new type load for the power grid due to that it can be regarded as both load and source at the same time.…”
