Đặt vấn đề: Phát triển chương trình giảng dạy IPE và duy trì IPE là một quá trình phức tạp và việc chuẩn bị cẩn thận cho người hướng dẫn vai trò của họ trong việc phát triển, cung cấp và đánh giá IPE là một quá trình quan trọng. Tuy nhiên, nhiều giảng viên có ít hoặc không có kiến thức và tiếp xúc với các hoạt động IPE và cảm thấy chưa sẵn sàng để đối mặt với những thách thức của quá trình đổi mới chương trình giảng dạy này. Mục tiêu: Khảo sát cảm nhận của giảng viên tham gia vận hành chương trình giáo dục liên ngành (IPE) tại ĐH Y Dược TpHCM. Đối tượng và phương pháp nghiên cứu: Nghiên cứu định tính với phương pháp thảo luận nhóm được thực hiện trên 24 giảng viên tham gia vận hành chương trình giáo dục liên ngành (IPE) từ tháng 09/2021 đến 01/2023. Kết quả nghiên cứu: Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy sự tương thích với khung khái niệm về giảng dạy phối hợp liên ngành tập trung vào hợp tác lấy người bệnh làm trung tâm (IECPCP). Giảng viên cho biết cần: 1) áp dụng đa dạng, phối hợp và lồng nghép nhiều phương pháp dạy và học; 2) có sự phối hợp liên ngành trong giảng dạy; 3) cải tiến mô hình triển khai liên tục; và 4) rào cản về thái độ của sinh viên và giảng viên đối với IPE. Kết luận: Tất cả những người tham gia đều coi IPE là một trong những nền tảng có thể được sử dụng để giúp sinh viên đạt được kỹ năng làm việc nhóm và phối hợp liên ngành dựa trên văn hóa tôn trọng và thúc đẩy bản sắc nghề nghiệp thông qua hiểu vai trò, trách nhiệm của họ cũng như của những người khác trong nhóm

The practice of community pharmacy in low and middle-income countries, including in Indonesia, is often described as in the state of infancy with several intractable barriers that have been substantially and continuously hampering the practice. Such description might be valid in highlighting how pharmacy is practiced and the conditions within and beyond community pharmacy organizations. Therefore, it is not surprising that the concept of integrating community pharmacy into the primary care system may not be considered in the contemporary discourse despite the fact that community pharmacy has been operating within communities for years. However, in the case of Indonesia, we argue that changes in the health care system within the past decade particularly with the introduction of the universal health coverage (UHC) in 2014, may have significantly amplified the role of pharmacists. There is good evidence which highlights the contribution of pharmacist as a substantial health care element in primary care practice. The initiative for employing pharmacist, identified in this article as primary care pharmacist, in the setting of community health center [puskesmas] and the introduction of affiliated or contracted community pharmacy under the UHC have enabled pharmacist to work together with other primary care providers. Moreover, government agenda under the “Smart Use of Medicines” program [Gema Cermat] recognizes pharmacists as the agent of change for improving the rational use of medicines in the community. Community pharmacy is developing, albeit slowly, and is able to grasp a novel position to deliver pharmacy-related primary care services to the general public through new services, for example drug monitoring and home care. Nevertheless, integrating community pharmacy into primary care is relatively a new notion in the Indonesian setting, and is a challenging process given the presence of barriers in the macro, meso- and micro-level of practice.

Background: Basic medical sciences are essential foundation for the constructive learning of clinical sciences. Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Syiah Kuala is currently implementing Problem-based learning (PBL) for basic medical sciences. Studies have been conducted in many places with inconsistently different results that it is impossible to draw theoretical and practical conclusions regarding the implementation of PBL for basic medical sciences. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of PBL for basic medical sciences at Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Syiah Kuala from the perspectives of pre-clinical teachers, clinical teachers and medical students.Methods: This is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. Respondents were pre-clinical teachers, clinical teachers and medical students. Data collection were carried out by using focused-group discussion (FGD). Data analysis was carried out qualitatively by using thematic analysis.Results: This study identified three themes: (1) integrated thematic blocks are not adequate for the learning of basic medical sciences, (2) inadequacy of basic medical sciences practice activities, and (3) possible improvements through curriculum revision.Conclusion: The implementation of PBL in the form of integrated blocks for basic medical sciences is not adequately constructive to prepare students to learn clinical sciences. Hybrid curriculum which incorporates conventional methods for basic medical sciences and PBL for clinical sciences is recommended to improve students’ constructive learning. Further studies on hybrid curriculum is needed to evaluate its effect of basic medical sciences.
