Phacoemulsification And Zonular Weakness: Contribution Of The Capsular Tension Ring With A Thread

Abstract: PurposeCataract surgery in patients suffering from zonular weakness can be difficult and lead to severe complications. The insertion of capsular tension rings to stabilize the capsular bag along all steps of the phacoemulsification is an option, although can be difficult to remove intra- or post-operatively. A capsular tension ring with a thread is a safe alternative, which allows its easy removal at the end of the surgery.Patients and methodsRetrospective study of regular practice on 14 patients with zonular … Show more

“…Therefore, we recommend the use of modified CTR in the treatment of Marfan syndrome patients with lens dislocation. Based on the traditional standard tension ring design, it adds one or two suturing handles with fixed rings at the top in the middle of the ring, which can not only expand the pressure of the bag as well as keep the bag round but also fix the bag by suturing which is conducive to maintaining the long-term stability of the bag and the neutral position of the IOL [ 24 , 25 ]. At the same time, it can resist the shift of pouch tension ring caused by lens epithelial cell proliferation and migration to a certain extent making it more suitable for young Marfan syndrome patients.…”

“…Рутинная хирургия катаракты нередко осложняется подвывихом хрусталика вследствие слабости цинновых связок [1,2]. Имплантация капсульного кольца (КК) помогает стабилизировать капсульный мешок и избежать таких осложнений, как разрыв задней капсулы хрусталика (РЗК), возникновение зонулодиализа и выхода волокон стекловидного тела в переднюю камеру [3,4].…”
