Long Noncoding RNA H19 Induces Neuropathic Pain by Upregulating Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 5-Mediated Phosphorylation of cAMP Response Element Binding Protein

Abstract: Objective Neuropathic pain (NP) is a debilitating condition caused by nervous system injury and chronic diseases. LncRNA H19 is upregulated in many human diseases, including NP. Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5) aggressively worsens inflammatory action and nerve damage to cause severe NP. Phosphorylated cAMP response element binding protein (CREB) is detrimental to nerves and promotes NP progression. Herein, aim of our study was to assess the mechanism of lncRNA H19. Methods … Show more

“…The following studies were performed to explore the roles and mechanisms of lncRNAs in the development of PNI-induced CNP. lncRNAs, such as MALAT1, DILC, FIRRE, XIST, H19, and DGCR5 in the spinal cord, have been found to have a continuous effect on CNP ( Wei et al, 2018 ; Peng et al, 2019 ; Li K. et al, 2020 ; Liu et al, 2020 ; Wu et al, 2020 ; Wen et al, 2021 ). lncRNAs, such as H19, SNHG5, and MRAK009713 in DRG, have also been identified to play important roles in the development of CNP ( Li et al, 2017 ; Chen et al, 2020 ; Wen et al, 2020 ).…”

“…Cdk5 mediated cyclic AMP response element binding protein (CREB; Li et al, 2014 ) and regulated NP through Cdk5/PPAR γ pathway (Zhong et al, 2019 ). Silencing noncoding RNA H19 can relieve by inhibiting Cdk5 mediated phosphorylation of CREB (Li et al, 2020 ). Based on these findings, Cdk5 is supposed to be a potential target to attenuate neuralgia.…”
