Abstract: PurposeLung cancer and other solid tumors contain not only tumor cells but various types of stromal cells, such as fibroblasts and endothelial cells. In addition, tumors are infiltrated by inflammatory cells (neutrophils, macrophages, and lymphocytes). “…All animal studies were conducted in accordance with local guidelines for the care of laboratory animals at the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences. As many researchers have used the Lewis lung carcinoma cell line (LL/2) with high tumorigenic ability in C57BL and a higher rate of metastases than the original tumor line (LLC1) as a model for NSCLC [ 16 18 ], we also obtained this cell line from the national cell bank of the Pasteur Institute (Iran) and plated it as described above (i.e., DMEM/10% FBS at 37 °C in a 5% CO2/95% air atmosphere).
