Three new species of Micropsalliota (Agaricaceae, Agaricales) from China

Abstract: Species diversity of Micropsalliota in China remains poorly known, especially in southwestern China, a hotspot of biodiversity. Based on morphological characteristics and molecular phylogenetic analyses using ITS and nrLSU sequences, three new species named Micropsalliota delicatula, M. dentatomarginata and M. digitatocystis are introduced from China. Phylogenetc analyses results indicated the unique phylogenetic positions of three new species in Micropsalliota. Full descriptions, photo plates, illustrations a… Show more

“…Specimens were dried completely with a food drier under a temperature of 55 °C overnight. Anatomical and cytological features including lamellae, pileipellis, basidiospores, basidia, and cystidia were observed from dried specimens and following the protocols [ 17 , 18 , 19 ]. A total of 5% KOH were used for a staining reaction.…”

“…Zhao and M. cystidiosa Natarajan & Manjula also have pleurocystidia. Micropsalliota digitatocystis and M. pseudoglobocystis are differ markedly by its needle-like pleurocystidia ( Li et al, 2021 ). Also M. digitatocystis has distinctly larger basidiospores (5.8-7.4 × 4-4.6 µm; Li et al, 2021 ).…”

Also M. digitatocystis has distinctly larger basidiospores (5.8-7.4 × 4-4.6 µm; Li et al, 2021 ). Micropsalliota cystidiosa differs primarily in its smaller basidiomata (pileus 10-20 mm diam, stipe 35-40 × 4-6 mm) and smaller, fusoid ventricose pleurocystidia with mucronate apices ( Natarajan & Manjula, 1982 ).…”
