Abstract:Pteroceras viridiflorum (Thwaites) Holttum, a Sri Lankan endemic species has been recorded from India. To facilitate easy identification, the taxonomic notes, short description, and dissected live images are provided. The identity of Proteroceras holttumii J.Joseph & Vajr. is reviewed and has been placed under Pteroceras viridiflorum instead of Pteroceras leopardinum (C.S.P. Parish & Rchb.f.) Seidenf. & Smitinand and P. leopardinum is excluded from the flora of South India.
