“…Extrapulmonary pneumocystosis is rare, and has been reported in lymph nodes, bone marrow, stomach, spleen, liver, small intestine, skin, pancreas, thyroid, choroid, and eye. [4][5][6][7][8][9] To this author's knowledge, PC as a common bile duct mass lesion has not been reported. The objective of this paper is to alert readers that, when observing exuberant vascular proliferation with multinucleated giant-cell reaction associated with necrosis in fine-needle aspiration biopsy, PC infection should come into the differential diagnosis, even in uncommon sites and in patients unsuspected of HIV infection; the appropriate stains should be performed.…”
