L-Tryptophan Ingestion Does Not Induce Progressive Systemic Sclerosis (Scleroderma)

Abstract: A retrospective analysis of 153 patients suffering from progressive systemic sclerosis failed to show any correlation between either onset or worsening of the disease and L-tryptophan ingestion. Only one woman developed typical acrosclerosis without signs of the eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome during exposure to the drug.
