Crepidotus yuanchui sp. nov. and C. caspari found in subalpine areas of China

Abstract: Only a few Crepidotus species have been previously reported from subalpine areas of China. Members of Crepidotus possessing an orange-yellow pileus are rare in China as well. Here, we describe Crepidotus yuanchui , a new species characterized by an orange-yellow pileus, ovoid basidiospores, and abundant cylindric to narrowly utriform cheilocystidia. This species is widely distributed above 2000 m asl in Yunnan Province. In addition, … Show more

“…In addition, the basidiospore size is given with the (a) b-e-c (d) formula, where "b-c" contains a minimum of 90% of the measured values of the spores, "e" represents the average values of the spores, and "a" and "d" represents the minimum and maximum values of the spores (Ge et al 2021). Q is the ratio length/width of individual spores (Q value); Q m is the average Q of all basidiospores ± sample standard deviation (Na et al 2022;Jean et al 2022). After the study, examined specimens were deposited in the Herbarium of Changbai Mountain Natural Reserve (ANTU) with FCAS numbers and the Fungal Herbarium of Hainan Medical University (FHMU).…”

“…The sequence quality was checked using BioEdit 7.0.9.0, with chromatograms inspected for accuracy [ 41 , 42 ]. Low-quality sequences were enhanced by applying plasmid vectors using VELUTE Gel Mini Purification and pBLUE-T kits (Beijing Zoman Biotechnology Co., Beijing, China) for optimal sequencing results [ 43 ]. All newly obtained sequences in this study were submitted to GenBank.…”

“…DNA was extracted from dried specimens with the NuClean Plant Genomic DNA kit (CWBIO, China) (Ge et al, 2021 ; Na et al, 2022 ). Three regions (ITS, LSU, rpb2 ) were selected for the study and were amplified using the primer pairs ITS1/ITS4 (White et al, 1990 ), LR0R/LR7 (Hopple and Vilgalys, 1999 ), and 6F/7.1R (Matheny, 2005 ), respectively.…”
