Abstract:One week-immobilization of rat soleus muscle in a shortened position caused muscle atrophy with decreasing amounts of both structural and cytosolic proteins. On the other hand, soleus muscle immobilized in a lengthened position slightly gained weight with increasing amounts of proteins.
