Lower Limb Walking Gait Profiling Using Marker-less Motion Capture with GDL and R-GDL methods to Assist Physiotherapy Treatment

Abstract: Physiotherapy includes specialised therapist conducting mechanical force and movement onto human body in order to heal and avoid further physical injuries. Therapists rely on subjective estimation in order to measure the performance improvements after physiotherapy treatments. An automated method to analyse and measure improvement is needed to calculate improvements based on patients' walking gait. This method would require a gait profile database in order to be able to calculate patients' improvement after ph… Show more

“…Motion capture (MoCap) is one of the most effective methods for digitizing intangible cultural heritage, including FDs [6]. This is because MoCap enables the translation of live motion into a digital performance [12,13,14]. Mocap can also be used to recreate dances in three dimensions and display them in a 3D environment [15].…”

“…Besides, the use of a microscope [6] and even the ambidextrous skills during the surgery would affect the way they operate, there would have a risk that could endanger the patients, and it costs a life if it is not handling seriously. With current technology, there were many solutions proposed by using sensors with computational unit supports to objectively evaluate the motion performance [7]- [9].…”
