Low‐Temperature Preparation and Characterization of Nanosized Crystalline Anatase Titania with Titanium Tetrachloride and Acetic Anhydride as Materials
Abstract:When titanium tetrachloride and acetic anhydride were mixed, an acute reaction occurred immediately. The products, titanyl acetate chloride organic compounds, were studied with FTIR and TGA. The results indicated that they were composed of two dimmers [(CH 3 CO 2 TiOCl) 2 and (CH 3 CO 2 TiCl 2 ) 2 O] in which a Ti atom combined with acetate in the way of coordinative bonding. In those dimmers, there are frameworks of Ti-O-Ti chemical bridges that are favorable units for forming nanosized crystalline titania. A… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
