Using semipermeable celloidin membrane as a basic template and organic reagents as cooperation additives, the CaCO 3 crystals with different morphologies were successfully synthesized. All the products were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, thermogravimetry, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy, etc. With the view of the different solubility products (K sp ) of La 2 (CO 3 ) 3 and CaCO 3 , a novel core/shell CaCO 3 / La 2 (CO 3 ) 3 composited fluorescent material was synthesized for the first time. The morphologies and properties of the core/shell CaCO 3 /La 2 (CO 3 ) 3 composited fluorescent materials were also investigated.
