Low-temperature anomalous spin correlations and Kondo effect in ferromagnetic SrRuO3/LaNiO3/La0.7Sr0.3MnO3

Abstract: A systematic comparative study of the electronic transport and ferromagnetic resonance of ultrathin trilayers (TLs) of SrRuO3/LaNiO3/ La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 on (001)-and (111)-oriented SrTiO3 (STO) substrates has been reported. An unusual upturn in resistivity ρ(T) at low-temperature (so called Kondo-like behaviour) accompanied by the negative magneto-resistance has been observed. For temperatures larger than the Kondo temperature (TK), ρ(T) is in good agreement with the Hamann's impurity resistivity model ρ(T >TK) ∝ … Show more

“…As evident, both the parameters do not change appreciably and remain nearly constant within the limit of error bar. This field-independent nature of coefficient C is further regarded as typical feature of Kondo behavior [52,53,54]. Therefore, this low temperature minimum in ρ(T ) in present series (x ≤ 0.3) is likely due to Kondo-like behavior.…”

“…Recently, the possibility of Kondo behavior has been discussed in SrRuO 3 films. [52] The parameters (ρ 0K and C) obtained from fitting of Eq. 8 are given in Table II in 0 and 8 T field for x ≤ 0.3.…”

“…The sharp fall below T EB and the consequent resistivity upturn at lower temperatures is fit using two forms. The solid yellow curve in figure 1(d) is a fit to the data in regime II using the equation [42,43]…”

“…The resistivity at T < T Min for the LSMO films [Fig. S5 † ] was fitted using the following expression: 29 where ρ 0 is the residual resistivity, the second term is due to the contribution of electron–electron scattering, the third term is the spin-dependent Kondo-like effect, and the last term is related to the inelastic scattering. The fitting result as denoted by the solid lines in Fig.…”
