“…For sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS; EC 2.4.1.14), approximately 1 g of frozen material was ground to a fine powder in an ice bath with 5 mL of 4‐(2‐hydroxyethyl)‐1‐piperazineethanesulfonic acid–NaOH buffer (50 mmol L −1 , pH 7.5) containing 50 mmol L −1 MgCl 2 , 2 mmol L −1 EDTA, 0.2% (w/v) bovine serum albumin, and 2% polyvinyl pyrrolidone. After centrifugation (10 000 × g , 10 min), 50 mL of supernatant was mixed with 50 mL of HEPES–NaOH buffer, 20 mL of 50 mmol L −1 MgCl 2 , 20 mL of 100 mmol L −1 uridine diphosphoglucose, and 20 mL of 100 mmol L −1 fructose 51,52 . The mixture was incubated at 30 °C for 30 min, and the reaction was stopped by the addition of 200 mL of 2 mmol L −1 NaOH and boiling for 10 min.…”

“…However, in another study, it was found that the low-P-tolerant variety showed higher fiber strength, fiber fineness, fiber uniformity, and fiber elongation, although it was found that different P concentrations had no direct impact on fiber quality [67]. Several reports have shown that, compared with the low-P sensitive cultivar, the low-P-tolerant cultivar had high cotton-seed weight, cotton-seed yield, and dry biomass, and accumulated more P [68][69][70][71]. Other studies have shown that low-phosphorus conditions will also have a greater impact on the content of large amounts, and of the micronutrients in cottonseed [72].…”

“…The deficiencies of macronutrients and micronutrients decrease cotton yield (Ahmed N. et al, 2020). Recently, Iqbal et al (2022) demonstrated that low P tolerance in cotton is regulated by root morphology and physiology. The study showed that low P decreased dry matter, photosynthesis, and carbon metabolism in cotton, which could directly affect the yield.…”
