The EM-60 system, a large-moment frequency-domain electromagnetic loop p r o s p e c t i n g system, w a s o p e r a t e d i n t h e Soda Lakes geothermal a r e a , Nevada.T h i r t e e n s t a t i o n s w e r e occupied a t d i s t a n c e s ranging from 0.5-3.0 k m f r o m t w o t r a n s m i t t e r sites. These y i e l d e d f o u r sounding curves--the normalized amplitudes and phases of t h e v e r t i c a l and radial magnetic f i e l d s a s a f u n c t i o n of frequency--at each s t a t i o n . In a d d i t i o n , t w o p o l a r i z a t i o n e l l i p s e parameters, e l l i p t i c i t y and tilt angle, w e r e c a l c u l a t e d a t each frequency.The data w e r e i n t e r p r e t e d by means of a l e a s t -s q u a r e s i n v e r s i o n procedure which f i t s a l a y e r e d r e s i s t i v i t y model t o t h e data.
