Low expression of B‐cell‐associated protein 31 in human primary hepatocellular carcinoma correlates with poor prognosis

Abstract: BAP31 expression is an independent prognostic factor for OS of patients with postoperative HCC, and low expression levels of BAP31 in HCC may indicate poor outcomes of HCC patient after surgical resection.

“…Increasing evidence shows that BAP31, which serves as a novel cancer antigen, is highly expressed in many types of carcinoma. Notably, BAP31 has been found to aid in the proliferation and metastasis of tumors, and its aberrant expression correlates with poor prognosis in patients . The Oncomine datasets showed that the expression level of BAP31 in human gastric intestinal‐type adenocarcinoma is significantly higher than that in the normal gastric mucosa, suggesting that BAP31 might be a tumor‐associated antigen of GC.…”

“…Notably, BAP31 has been found to aid in the proliferation and metastasis of tumors, and its aberrant expression correlates with poor prognosis in patients. [11][12][13]34 The Oncomine datasets showed that the expression level of BAP31 in human gastric intestinal-type adenocarcinoma is significantly higher than that in the normal gastric mucosa, suggesting that BAP31 might be a tumor-associated antigen of GC. By analyzing the relationship of BAP31 with different tumor-associated antigens, we found that BAP31 could apparently affect the expression level of p27 kip1 .…”

“…The score of staining extent was 1 (<25%), 2 (25%-50%), 3 (51%-75%), and 4 (>75%). The final GSTA1 expression score was calculated with the intensity score × extent score, ranging from 0 to 12 16 . The staining results were divided into 3 categories based on the sum of scores: 0-3 was low GSTA1 group, 4-8 was moderate GSTA1 group, 9-12 was high GSTA1 group.…”
