Low-energy fusion dynamics of weakly bound nuclei: A time dependent perspective

Abstract: Recent dynamical fusion models for weakly bound nuclei at low incident energies, based on a time-dependent perspective, are briefly presented. The main features of both the PLATYPUS model and a new quantum approach are highlighted. In contrast to existing timedependent quantum models, the present quantum approach separates the complete and incomplete fusion from the total fusion. Calculations performed within a toy model for 6 Li + 209 Bi at near-barrier energies show that converged excitation functions for to… Show more

“…The theoretical results in this section obtained for the crosssection of total fusion σ fus , the distribution of the barrier of fusion D fus and probability of the fusion P fus by the quantum mechanical route for systems 6 He+ 64 Zn, 8 B+ 58 Ni, and 8 He+ 197 Au. The semiclassical calculations conducted by code SCF and quantum mechanical calculations performed by code CC, the σ fus , D fus and P fus are compared with measured data.…”

“…The Akyüz-Winther parameters of the used potential to perform the calculations were listed in Table 1. The system 6 He+ 64 Zn includes two neutron light halo nucleus of 6 He as a projectile nucleus. The calculations for the reaction cross-section of total fusion σ fus , the distribution of fusion reaction barrier D fus and the probability of the fusion P fus are shown in A, B, and C, respectively, for the system 6 He+ 64 Zn as shown in Fig.…”
