Low-energy collisions between electrons and BeD+

Abstract: Multichannel quantum defect theory is applied in the treatment of the dissociative recombination and vibrational excitation processes for the BeD + ion in the 24 vibrational levels of its ground electronic state). Three electronic symmetries of BeD ** states ( P 2 , S + 2, and D 2 ) are considered in the calculation of cross sections and the corresponding rate coefficients. The incident electron energy range is 10 −5 -2.7 eV and the electron temperature range is 100-5000K. The vibrational dependence of these … Show more

“…In all cases, it can be observed a resonant state given by the oscillatory structure. As one can compare with the resonance disposal in works like ( [10][11][12]), it not belongs to the outer-well resonances. For a shallow deep potential endowed with high barriers, Fig.…”

“…Figure 6 shows the ratio of the DR rate coefficients for BeD + [24] vs BeH + [10,20,23], and for BeT + vs BeH + molecular cations, as function of the quantum number of the initial vibrational level of the target and of temperature.…”

“…The present work continues and ends a series of studies we performed on the DR, VE and VdEeqs. (1-3) -of BeH + [10,20,23] and BeD + [24][25][26] with electrons of low to moderate collision energy. Here we first present a complete study on the vibrational dependence of the DR, VdE and VE rate coefficients of BeT + cation.…”

“…Vibrationally resolved cross-sections have been obtained previously using R-matrix calculations (Danby and Tennyson 1991, Rabadán et al 1998, Stibbe and Tennyson 1997, Teillet-Billy et al 1999. Indeed there have been recent calculations on both BeH (Celiberto et al 2013), discussed above, and the BeH + cation (Laporta et al 2017, Niyonzima et al 2018. However, as part of the present study, a new vibrationally averaging program was developed.…”
