“…Therefore, the UFMC signal can have high peak values, which results high PAPR in UFMC system. The PAPR can be defined as 7 PAPR=maxnɛ[]0,1,2…….N+L1{}||sn2E[]||sn2, where E[]||sn2 is the average power of s n .…”

“…PAPR, which severely affects the performance of power amplifier, 7 is one of the serious drawbacks of multicarrier systems. Also, as high PAPR demands the large input backoff (IBO) and decreases the efficiency of the transmit power amplifier considerably, linear amplification of the input signal must be ensured.…”

“…Due to the fact that a little time has passed since the UFMC was introduced to the science community, a quite limited number of PAPR reduction studies were carried out for the UFMC waveform in the literature. Some of the related studies are as follows 23–29 : Tipan et al 23 compared the performances of three different kinds of clipping schemes on reducing the PAPR of UFMC signal and evaluated their effects on the BER performance of the UFMC waveform in the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. In Baig et al, 24 a precoding scheme based on discrete Hartley transform was suggested for the UFMC and the performance of the related scheme was investigated by exerting Monte Carlo simulations.…”

“…In Fathy et al, 28 a kind of modified SLM scheme in which U 2 /4 candidate signals are generated from the U different phase sequences was developed. Finally, in Rong et al, 29 a low‐complexity PTS technique possessing almost the same PAPR reduction capability with the conventional PTS was suggested for the UFMC waveform.…”
