Love waves in a layer with void pores over a microstructural couple stress substrate with corrugated boundary surfaces

Abstract: This paper presents theoretical investigations of Love waves in a layered structure composed of a layer of finite thickness exhibiting heterogeneities in the form of void pores lying over a couple stress substrate which possesses inner microstructures. The top surface of layer and the interfacial surface between two media are assumed to be sinusoidal corrugated in nature. Dispersion relationships for the propagation of Love waves in the considered model are calculated, and some special cases are also discussed… Show more

“…As a consequence of these observations, the dispersion relation (44) cannot be directly obtained assuming a classical solution for B and it is thereby defined as non-classical. We also observe that, to leading order, q 1A (0) = 0, which indeed corresponds to one of the boundary conditions used in Sharma and Kumar (2019); Sharma et al (2020). However, rotation at the…”

“…Gupta et al (2020a, b, c) studied the influence of point source on shear wave propagation in fissured poroelastic medium. Impact of couple stress on the dispersion of Love wave propagating in a corrugated layer with void pores has been examined by Sharma et al (2020). Ray and Singh (2020) explored the propagation of Lovetype waves in a couple-stress stratum.…”
