Loss or gain of function? Effects of ion channel mutations on neuronal firing depend on the neuron type

Abstract: IntroductionClinically relevant mutations to voltage-gated ion channels, called channelopathies, alter ion channel function, properties of ionic currents, and neuronal firing.
